‘Tuggstar’ Togobo is a graduate of History and International Politics (BA hons) at Coventry University in the United Kingdom. He went on to become a freelance journalist, working for Black British magazine Untold, publishing articles in New African and becoming a columnist for British Black newspaper New Nation.
Following university he dabbled in spoken word, but went on a year trip to Canada, and arrived back in the UK as an internationally acclaimed Spoken word proponent, performing alongside the likes of Dead Prez, Estelle, being a feature on British Hip hop legends Blak Twang L.P. Speaking from Experience; And he even opened for former president of Ghana J.J Rawlings during a visit to England.
He has featured on the BBC, Time Out Magazine as well as on numerous radio stations across the UK, America, Canada and Ghana.
He has published a chapbook called The Way of the Word and to date has two albums The Africa E.P From Here to There and Home Again and Season of Lost Love. He is currently (as of today) working on his third album Family Ties.
Tuggstar believes in working with the community. He is a dynamic motivational speaker, workshop facilitator and has trained as a Mentor and Life Coach. He has worked under acclaimed Los Angeles gang mediator Twilight Bey as a Youth Engagement Practitioner in the inner cities of London. He specializes in personal development, leadership and has been accredited to deliver the A-mer-i-Can curriculum (known as My-I-Can in the U.K) and Bob Proctor’s Life Success.
